Memorabilia of past ‘future’ films; past films of ‘the future’; now-past visions of the future which, upon being revisited, take on a slightly more complex temporality, from the standpoint of the present - revisiting past visions of the future, in the present.
The exhibition makes the speculative attempt to (re)constitute the meaning of the gallery space as a space of time that is ‘out of joint’ with the time of the present (and the time of the past, the time of the future, the time of past futures, and the times of the futures of the past).
Can these visions collectively constitute a fictional conceptual space outside of ‘history’?
