Colour Theory

Red, green, blue: supposedly the fundamental sensory qualities that are blended in the perception of all physical colours and equally in the physical mixture of pigments and dyes.

Visual perception: the nervous system derives colour by comparing the responses to light from the serial types of cone photoreceptors in the eye.

Cone cells: photoreceptor cells in the retina of the eye that function best in relatively bright light.

Colour vision: capacity of an organism or machine to distinguish objects based on the wavelength (or frequencies) of the light they reflect, emit, transmit.
